MIND & YOURS
(You are listening
to the title track)
MIND & YOURS is my first
CD and represents a collection of songs penned over many years. The CD was originally scheduled to be released
with the band name, THE BAWLS. Two of the songs (Gotcha and You'll always have
me) were written hoping that radio D.J.'s would introduce these songs by name and then say, ...by the Bawls.
An entire marketing plan was designed so that posters and T-shirts would state: "I Have THE BAWLS
to rock and roll" That promotional idea was dropped in favor of the self-titled
cover that now appears on the CD.
By the way, the cover contains a copy of one of my original oil paintings
created when I was twenty years old.
A self-portrait when I had more facial
hair!
ARTIST PROFILE
I consider myself a short-haired rock n' roller, with a long and rich
history of music in my blood. I grew up in New Orleans where my grandfather and father were legendary Dixieland musicians.
The life stories and instruments of both my dad and grandfather appear in the Dixieland Museum. I started out playing
drums in various bands and ended my early performing career singing New Orleans R&B under the name Wee Willie Gallaty.
Wee Willie performed with New Orleans greats such as the Neville Brothers, Bobby Ridgely and others. The recording of Mind
& Yours fulfills a long-standing goal to get my music beyond the sheet music and into the ears of others.

CD TRACKS:
ONE MORE SONG: A haunting rock song of
life on the tour road. Led-Zep-type lead riffs accent the driving lyrical tale of compulsion to give the fans "One More
Song."
MIND
& YOURS: Harmonies & Homonyms
mixed like the oils of a Salvador Dali painting to provide the listener with a song within a song. John Lennon's
creative touch combined with Crosby, Stills and Nash harmonic blends make the title cut a real treat to the attentive ear.
HARD WOMAN:
Kick-ass rock at its best. What a late-night,
last-set jam session would be if ZZ Top joined the Who. Everybody's known a "Hard Woman" and Gallaty has
given her a song. Slide guitar and harmonica detail the heavy metal guitar drive train on this puppy.
SISTER AGNES: Can Rock tell a spiritual story? You bet it can an Sister Agnes does it in a beautiful and moving ballad
revealing the inner feelings of one who has made the choice "to lose yourself in something you believe." Simple
guitar and piano work on the verses are enriched by cello and violin during the bridge and provide the emotional musical support
for the solo female voicing.
WHAT YOU
SEE IS WHAT YOU GET: Put on the
rubber lips, MICK is in the house! There is no escaping the Stones' influenced W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. As this songs
says, "...it may not be much, but its the best!"
THE
SONG: Subliminal messages? Not on this CD.
Don't play this song backwards to find out if Paul is dead. The Hendrix-like guitar licks added to the Beatle-modeled
song line generates a uniqueness that grabs your ear.
OVER
YOU: This one is for those who long for
a simple driving beat coupled with the earthy lyrics that made Little Richard and Jerry Lee's songs so popular. Great
sax work brings out the early rock flavor on this one.
COMING
HOME: This recording is the "unplugged" version
of a much harder rock song. The "wake-up call" introduction is followed by simple conga drums Harmonies
& Homonyms mixed like the oils of a Salvador Dali painting to provide the listener with a song within a song. John
Lennon's creative touch combined with Crosby, Stills and Nash harmonic blends make the title cut a real treat to the attentive
ear.
GOTCHA:
In-your-face, heavy metal rock! KISS didn't write this one, but they wish they had.
YOU'LL HAVE ME: A great closing ballad complete with three-part harmony and easy
listening guitar work. The Eagles would have come back before Hell froze over had they penned this one.
